BACK TO WORK AFTER 25 YEARS OF DISABILITY WITH CHRONIC PAIN AND FATIGUE
In this video Leslie shares her story and how North Coast Family Health is improving her quality of life.
Leslie presented as follows 9 months before she shared her story on this video:
“I was in my early twenties when this started. It felt like I had the flu and it never went away. I was a hair stylist. I felt like I had a fever even though I didn’t. I felt achy all over. I had to go to work and push through long days. At the end of the day I’d be falling asleep at the wheel. I’d get dizzy and it was very unpleasant. Then the depression and anxiety started to kick in. I’d use Advil and Tylenol. I was in a panic state because there was no explanation from doctors.
I continued on a for a few years and I got so depressed I didn’t want to live anymore. They put me on Paxil and something for anxiety. I didn’t go back to work and went on a quest to find what I could to get better. Nothing worked. I went to numerous different doctors. Many doctors said it was emotional. My therapist insisted there was something medically wrong with me. I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Syndrome.”
Now Leslie is able to walk around New York City and stand up for long hours at the hair salon. She could never have imagined doing these activities one year ago. Her wish is for anyone who has similar symptoms to be seen by one of the doctors here at North Coast Family Health so they can LIVE AGAIN and ENJOY LIFE!
